Improve your Reading

Buy your child a book light and allow them to read their book after climbing into bed.
Visit the book store every six weeks and purchase books that grab your child's interest.
Keep a small basket of books in the car. Toys can be left at home.
Set aside time for the family to read.

Do you want to be a successful writer?

Writing needs to include a main idea and supporting details. Using specific active verbs is more interesting than the verb went. Use proper nouns instead of the words like: friend and neighbor. Answer these questions: How did it happen? Where were you? What did you do? Try to be an accurate writer to paint your picture for the reader.

Don't forget.

Write your first and last name on all papers with the date of the assignment. Please include the subject and the page number when assigned from a textbook.

Class Homework

It is imperative students write their assignments each day in their planners. Dates can change which are posted on the web page. Students are encouraged to ask questions.

O God our heavenly father, we pray for the gift of courage. If we find our work in school difficult, help us to face our difficulties with determination which will enable us to overcome fear;

if in our relationships with others we are tempted to lower our own standards and follow an influence we know to be wrong, give us the strength to resist and to stand up for all that is right;

and if in our personal lives we have some weakness or some temptation which we find hard to oversome, grant us the great gift of moral courage to live and act according to our highest ideals.

In all our times of weakness, be our strength, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
